This site is for my ongoing exploration into alternate lewd game formats and AI. Currently I'm building tiny-form AI-art visual novel games.
Because they're fun to create! Although it's probably not obvious to players, even a very tiny game represents several weeks of work. Anything that approaches a "full" modern lewd game is at minimum 6 months of hobbist time. Games that actually have a big following such that their developers can work full time (or aspiring folks who've quit their day-job) are far larger. And all this work is (for most developers) to build something that's likely to get a very small amount of appreciation. Even if you do get 100s or 1000s of plays, very few of those folks are going actually have anything nice to say.
Which is fine - I don't build games to get likes. Given that though, it makes sense to prioritize games that are fun to build. Over the course of many months building a long form game, any particular idea is likely to move from something I'm very excited about to something I'm quite bored of. To me the fun of games is inventing sexy scenarios and enticing romantic partners. A tiny game lets me spend more of my time on that.
Maybe? That's the "experimental" part of this.
I take as my inspiration lewd short stories or even "captions" (if anybody remembers when those used to be super-popular on tumblr way back when). A short form story's design is different - you have to sketch a lot of the world/character building and get down to business, so to speak. But a "sketch" can often be very sexy in the hands of an author who knows how to do it.
For folks who wanna put a few hours in and achieve a narrative or actual climax - obviously a long form game has a lot of advantages. But I think there can still be some fun possible in a 5 minute "appetizer".
If the idea to make small free graphical games fast, I can't afford $500 a game to pay a professional what they're worth. And that $500 doesn't go very far - in terms of the number and complexity of the assets I actually use, it'd be much more like $5000/tiny game.
This is a hobby of mine, and the reality is I have a lot of fun when I can swiftly build art for my games. I freely acknowledge that a real artist could do far be better than I do, and also that maybe my hobby is immoral. But if AI did not exist, these games would also just not exist in anything like their existing form.
I've decided that I think it's OK to make art that makes me happy (the games, not the images the AI makes for me). But you could reasonably disagree and decide not to play them. I try to do my best to clearly flag my games for what they are, so you can decide.
